A bill of quantities is a document used within the construction/ building industry for tendering purposes listing material, parts, labour and their costs.

Itemising all the works enables a contractor to price the work to be carried out. The quantities may be measured in number, area, volume, weight or time.

Preparing a bill of quantities is generally carried out by a qualified Quantity Surveyor.
