OSB (Oriented strand board)

Five different qualities and standards.

OSB/0 – No added formaldehyde
OSB- Oriented strand board
OSB/1 – General-purpose boards and boards for interior fitments (including furniture) for use in dry conditions
OSB/2 – Load-bearing boards for use in dry conditions
OSB/3 – Load-bearing boards for use in humid conditions
OSB/4 – Heavy-duty load-bearing boards for use in humid condition

Osmosis

Osmosis.

Osmosis is associated where fibreglass and polyester resins have been uses.

Osmosis-GRP Swimming Pool

Over-atomised

Paints applied by spray which have been dispersed too finely by the use of excessive air pressure.

Overcoat

Subsequent coat i.e. top coat.

Overgrainer

Either a fan brush or rollers to apply fine line markings to imitate wavy lines in the wood grain

Overlap

Portion of wet paint covered by the next layer.

Overlapping Seam

A method of hanging wide width wallcoverings.

Overspray

Sprayed paint which goes beyond the area being coated.

Oxidation

The introduction and presence of oxygen within a wet film of alkyd paint to assist drying.

Oxide

Chemical or natural metal compounds.
